Abstract: Abstract Right at the beginning of his pontificate, this Pope launched the world meetings of social movements, i.e. those movements that fight for liberation, justice, peace, and the integrity of creation. In these movements, Francis sees the future of the world, but also a future for the Church, because for the Pope, the Gospel shines in these struggles of the poor: “Then one feels a promising breeze that revives hope for a better world. May this breeze become a cyclone of hope!” The conviction to be brought into these movements from the Gospel is the insight that a transformation of the world into a more just, peaceful place, in which creation is preserved and not further destroyed, can only succeed in a nonviolent way: “With passion yet without violence”, says the Pope. Then: “ carry on with your struggle; you do us all good like a blessing of humanity!” (Pope Francis 2014a)
