A chapter in Proceedings of the 2026 11th International Conference on Financial Innovation and Economic Development (ICFIED 2026), 2026, pp 379-388 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The wave of artificial intelligence (AI) is sweeping the globe, transforming production and lifestyles with unprecedented speed, breadth, and depth. Its rapid development worldwide has made it a crucial force driving high-quality economic growth and social change. According to predictions by International Data Corporation (IDC), AI is set to become the core of the global technology industry in the coming years, fueling innovation and development across all sectors. An increasing number of investors seek exposure to the AI field, primarily through actively managed funds and passive funds. This paper compares representative active and passive funds within the AI domain and concludes that passive ETFs demonstrate superior risk-adjusted returns.
