Abstract: ABSTRACT With the global spread of COVID-19, countries, enterprises, and individuals face severe challenges. Sustainable development has been widely concerned, and the importance of integrating environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) into investment decision-making has gradually become prominent. The paper is divided into three modules. The report researches many kinds of literature on ESG investment and analyses the critical impact of ESG investment on the benefits and risks of enterprises and the sustainable development of society. This paper mainly studies the essential role of ESG investment, how the three aspects of ESG investment affect by COVID-19, and the analysis of the risks and benefits of ESG investment. Finally, it leads to the opportunities and challenges China’s ESG investment development faces. Enterprises should actively undertake social responsibility and promote the economic and business model with sustainable development, promoting the development of enterprises and social progress.
