Abstract: Abstract The impact of higher education on China's growth in the economy is the subject of this research. The level of higher education is proxied by the number of students, teachers, and colleges, and the research uses gross domestic product to measure economic growth. This research uses the linear regression model, in an effort to explore the magnitude of the effect. This paper intends to add to the current literature by bringing together evidence from a Chinese regional annual data set from the period 2003 to 2018 acquired from the National Bureau of Statistics and Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. The result reveals that higher education has a substantial and favorable impact on China's economic development, and the number of college teachers is also suitable for evaluating higher education levels, which is the main innovation of the research. It suggests that the government should invest more in tertiary education to foster economic growth.
