Abstract:
Abstract Most zoos in China are facing declining revenue, mainly due to a decrease in the number of visitors. This paper combs and summarizes the literature from two aspects: problems in zoos’ operation and possible solutions, which refers to the recession in revenue that most zoos in China( this paper will use Nanjing Zoo and Beijing Zoo exclusively as examples) face nowadays. The research results show two societal factors which are the Covid-19 pandemic and zoos’ subsidies, and zoos’ individual factors like its design, are the main reasons for the issue of zoos’ operation.
