Abstract: Abstract In the 21st century, digital currency has attracted much attention in financial technology (Fintech). Currently being seriously explored by most of the world's major central banks, electronic money, the innovative product of the digital economy, may have a significant impact on the macro-financial pattern and financial stability. This paper breaks through geographical restrictions to study electronic currency in major countries and explores the motives and risks of launching electronic currency in China.
