Abstract: Abstract Tourism is one of the world’s sectors of attention to recover from its post-pandemic slump and the hospitality industry which is an essential part of tourism activities. In the digital era, digital travel preparation is more popular, so travel booking support applications are the focus in planning and developing Indonesia’s creative economy industry. Traveloka, Pegipegi, and Airy are online travel agents providing digital accommodation services. The three travel applications generally have similarities in appearance, system, and function as an online store. The application effectively meets the needs of online ordering but has yet to be able to maximize the service of related feature innovations. This research methodology adopts the case study method with a qualitative approach. This type of descriptive research was chosen to describe the planning strategy for building applications to develop digital-based hospitality promotions. This research will discuss the vital role of applications as a promotional tool in smartphones by comparing the three applications that have been launched and then, based on this, designing the “Umice” application based on the development of the previous three applications. The goal to be achieved is to understand the vital role of using applications on smartphones as a promotional tool in today’s digital era, knowing the advantages and disadvantages of features in published applications, and designing features in the “Umice” application as a means of promoting hotel media in Indonesia.
