Abstract:
Abstract This study aims to explore the specific impact of executives’ overseas backgrounds on corporate performance. With the acceleration of globalization, more and more companies are realizing the importance of international experience in senior management. However, whether the overseas background of executives can truly improve the performance of enterprises still requires empirical data support. This article systematically studies whether and how executive teams with different backgrounds and work experiences affect company performance by analyzing data from a series of enterprises. Research has found that executives with overseas backgrounds are often able to introduce diverse perspectives and innovative management practices to companies, which can help them succeed in the fiercely competitive international market. In addition, their decision-making ability in complex cross-cultural environments and insight into international markets can help businesses better cope with the challenges brought by globalization. This study found through case analysis and statistical model validation that when companies can effectively absorb and utilize the international experience of executives, their performance improvement is more significant. Finally, this article suggests that companies should pay attention to the international background of candidates in their executive recruitment and development decisions, while also considering their compatibility with the company culture, in order to maximize the value of experience. This study provides a new perspective for the talent strategy of enterprises and lays the foundation for other research on executive backgrounds in the future.
