Abstract: Abstract The development of tourism in traditional villages not only improve the income and living standards of community residents, thereby fostering the economic and social development as well as facilitating rural revitalization, but also induces impactful transformations in the natural, social, and economic environments of these villages. These positive changes come at a cost to local residents, changing their daily lives and causing to diverse psychological experiences that shape their overall perceptions of tourism effects. The study, therefore, focuses on the perceptions and attitudes of residents in traditional villages in Guizhou, China by adopting a quantitative method of data collection, grounded in social exchange theory. Smart PLS is used to analyse the complex relationships among constructs of the proposed structural models.
