Abstract: Abstract Due to its advantages such as convenient operation and good effect, the foam drainage gas recovery process has become the main measure for gas drainage and production in gas fields. To meet the actual needs during the implementation of the process and ensure the continuous and stable production of gas fields, technological innovation is of crucial importance. This study, by applying the theory of technological innovation management and taking “technological innovation support → technological innovation direction → technological innovation process” as the route, constructs a technological innovation management system for the foam drainage process. Then, taking the Yan 145 - Yan 518 well area in the Yanchang Gas Field as an example, the current situation of its foam drainage process was analyzed. The results show that the innovation of foam drainage process has a significant effect on maintaining the production capacity of the gas field, which proves the applicability of the innovation management system for foam drainage process.
