Abstract: Abstract Industrial parks are crucial drivers for promoting coordinated economic development in China and participating in the global value chain. As regional economic growth poles, their contribution to the local economic scale is significant. This paper analyzes the path of industrial parks to influence the scale of the local economy through scale effect and innovation effect from three dimensions: macro, meso, and micro. Firstly, we construct the index system of the comprehensive development level of industrial parks and establish the model of its contribution to the economic scale of the territory. Secondly, taking the Suzhou National Hi-Tech District as a case study, the entropy method is employed to measure the comprehensive development level of Suzhou National Hi-Tech District from 2012 to 2022, and empirical analysis is conducted on its direct and indirect contributions to Suzhou’s economic scale. The results show that the direct contribution of SNHD to Suzhou’s economic scale is 5.94%, with the indirect contributions of scale effects and innovation effects being 6.16% and 6.40%, respectively. Based on these findings, targeted strategies and recommendations are proposed to enhance Suzhou National Hi-Tech District’s contribution to the local economic scale.
