Abstract:
Abstract With the development of the times, society has gradually stepped into the information age. The Internet has become an indispensable part of people’s lives. Nowadays, more and more people are accustomed to using the network for consumer spending, and online consumption has already accounted for a large proportion of residents’ consumption. Therefore, how the Internet specifically affects residents’ consumption has become a research topic that cannot be ignored. The research question of this article is how network-related factors specifically influence residents’ consumer spending and how this research can utilize these factors to promote residents’ consumption and stimulate the vigorous development of the national economy. In this study, per capita consumer spending was taken as the dependent variable and network-related factors were considered. A panel model was constructed through the fixed effects model with fixed individuals and time for regression analysis. The research suggests that if a country aims to boost residents’ per capita consumption expenditure and thus the national economy, it can start by increasing per capita wages, elevating per capita income levels, and enhancing per capita disposable income. By improving residents’ consumption capacity, their consumption desires can be increased and consumption can be promoted. Consideration should also be given to the proportion of the population by age to avoid severe population aging and maintain the proportion of the young population within a normal range to prevent consumption inhibition due to advanced age.
