Abstract:
Abstract State-owned enterprises (SOEs) are an important material and political foundation of socialism with Chinese characteristics, yet academics have yet to reach a unanimous conclusion on the functions of SOEs. By systematically combing the existing literature, this paper explores the influence and role of SOEs in industrial development, and summarises their role and future development trend in the context of the construction of modern industrial system. On this basis, it is proposed that future research should further analyse and study the complex effects of state-owned enterprises on industrial development, avoid negative impacts and play a positive role. At the same time, SOEs should better play their roles in scientific and technological innovation, industrial leadership and security support, optimise the layout and structure of state-owned capital, promote state-owned capital and SOEs to be stronger, better and bigger, and serve the construction of a modernised economic system.
