Abstract:
Abstract This research aims to determine the implementation of government policies regarding women’s representation or affirmative action in the Regional Legislative Institution of Jeneponto Regency. This research uses qualitative methods with interview techniques and methods of analyzing the information obtained. Then the information obtained and has been analyzed is described descriptively. Based on the results of the research, it was found that the representation of women in the Jeneponto Regency legislature was 20%, still not fulfilling the desired affirmative, which is as much as 30%. However, the existence of an affirmative action policy has given a positive trend towards women’s representation in the Jeneponto Regency Legislature. This is shown by the increase in the number of women in the regional legislature, compared to before the 2014 period and showing consistency in the last two periods, as well as having a more resounding impact on women’s voices in the legislature, especially with PUG produced by the regional legislature. PUG is expected to have a positive reciprocal impact between the realization of women’s representation in the legislature and society.
