Abstract:
Abstract The resilience of supply chains is crucial for business sustainability, particularly in the rapidly evolving digital economy. This study investigates key factors that enhance supply chain resilience in Malaysia’s e-commerce sector. Addressing demand fluctuations, logistical disruptions, and technological integration is essential for maintaining operational efficiency and competitiveness. Despite its significance, limited empirical research has examined supply chain resilience in Malaysian online businesses. A quantitative research approach was adopted, collecting data from 200 supply chain professionals through a structured survey. The study examines four critical factors—supply chain transparency (SCT), supply chain diversification (SCD), technology application and innovation (TAI), and quality supply chain partnership quality (QSCP)—with supply chain visibility (SCV) as a mediating variable. Data were analysed using SPSS for demographic profiling and Smart PLS for structural equation modeling (SEM) to assess relationships and mediation effects. Findings indicate that SCT and TAI significantly impact supply chain resilience, while SCD and SCP provide complementary support. SCV plays a crucial mediating role, reinforcing the importance of these factors in mitigating market uncertainties. This study contributes to supply chain management literature by providing a theoretically grounded, empirically validated framework for strengthening resilience in e-commerce. The findings offer actionable insights for businesses and policymakers to develop adaptive, transparent, and technology-driven supply chain strategies in Malaysia’s digital economy.
