Abstract:
Abstract This study explores the implementation of the Event Management Body of Knowledge (EMBOK) framework in the context of event planning and execution. EMBOK serves as a standardized guideline for event organizers worldwide, encompassing key components such as planning, design, implementation, control, and evaluation to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of event management. The framework is structured around four primary aspects: Phases, Processes, Core Values, and Knowledge Domains, which collectively provide a comprehensive approach to managing events systematically. The research specifically focuses on the applicability of the EMBOK Phases aspect in the Wonder Fruit Carving event held in 2023. A qualitative methodology was employed, involving observations and document analysis to assess the extent to which the EMBOK Phases could be integrated into the event’s planning and execution. The findings indicate that the Phases aspect of EMBOK was successfully implemented, albeit with certain modifications and additional variables tailored to the specific characteristics of the Wonder Fruit Carving event. These results highlight the adaptability of EMBOK and its potential contribution to enhancing event management practices in cultural and artistic events.
