Abstract:
Abstract Green technological innovation serves as a critical pathway to achieving China’s sustainable development goals and fostering the long-term robust growth of firms. With the increasing dominance of online media, its influence on corporate green technological innovation has become more pronounced. This study conducts an empirical analysis using data from A-share listed firms in Shanghai and Shenzhen, yielding the following findings: (1) Online media attention significantly enhances corporate green technological innovation. (2) Both positive, neutral, and negative reports effectively encourage firms to engage in green technological innovation. (3) An interaction effect exists between executive compensation and executive gender. Executive compensation positively moderates the impact of online media attention on green technological innovation, whereas executive gender exhibits a negative moderating effect.
