Abstract: Abstract This study investigates the level of trust in dating apps as a medium for finding partners, with a specific focus on Malaysian users. The intentional use of the internet has risen significantly in Malaysia, to the extent that it has become a platform for individuals to seek soulmates. This aligns with the Social Information Processing Theory, which posits that individuals can establish online relationships with levels of intimacy comparable to or even exceeding those formed in face-to-face interactions. The research examines the extent of trust in using dating apps for finding partners and assesses the acceptance of these apps as a partner-seeking medium. A quantitative research method was employed, utilizing a 27-item survey to gather data. However, concerns such as Internet Romance Scams contribute to scepticism about digital dating. The findings reveal that the overall mean trust level for finding partners through dating apps is low (M = 2.17), as is the overall mean effectiveness of dating apps as a medium for finding partners (M = 2.42). These results suggest that dating apps remain ineffective in Malaysia.
