Abstract: Abstract Parasitic infections pose a significant existing challenge in the world, particularly in economically poorer regions, where malnutrition goes hand in hand. Nutritional intervention is emerging as a more promising approach to improving host immunity with the goal of preventing or reducing harm from parasitic infections. This paper explores how key micronutrients (vitamin A, zinc, and selenium) impact immune functions and reduce susceptibility to parasitic infections. This study conducted a thorough literature analysis to evaluate the impact of dietary supplementation on the risk of parasite infection and host defensive mechanisms. Evidence indicates that increasing micronutrient intake boosts immune responses, diminishes susceptibility to parasites, and accelerates recovery rates. However, the mechanism of action, dose dependent effects, and the consequences of specific nutrients over time on various parasite species remain unclear, which makes it impossible to define universal intervention strategies. Therefore, further research is needed to optimize dietary interventions tailored to specific parasite-host interactions.
