A chapter in Proceedings of the 2025 4th International Conference on Public Service, Economic Management and Sustainable Development (PESD 2025), 2025, pp 59-70 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This paper focuses on the identification and management of patent risks throughout the entire process of technological research and development (R&D) in high-tech enterprises. It divides the R&D process into four stages: preparation, strategic decision-making, implementation, and evaluation feedback. The article analyzes the potential patent risks at each stage and proposes targeted management strategies. The research indicates that during the preparation stage, it is essential to conduct thorough research in related fields, assess the company’s technological R&D capabilities, and analyze the patent legal status and competitors’ activities. In the strategic decision-making stage, flexible innovation strategies should be chosen based on the company’s development stage. The implementation stage should focus on the analysis of technical patents as well as the standardization of trials and applications. Lastly, in the evaluation feedback stage, it is crucial to establish a comprehensive patent management system. The article uses SZ DJI Technology Co., Ltd as a case study, showcasing its management practices in each stage and providing valuable references for patent risk management in enterprises.
