Abstract: Abstract This study investigates the challenges faced by digital business actors and MSMEs in Batam City when marketing their products outside the city, focusing on the impact of Free Trade Zone (FTZ) regulations on shipping costs and competitiveness. Using SWOT analysis, the study finds strategic ways for MSMEs to improve research and identifies strategic options for MSMEs to enhance their market reach and competitiveness. The findings indicate that there is an urgent government intervention to reduce tax burdens and shipping costs, enabling MSMEs to compete effectively with businesses in other regions. The study recommends leveraging strengths to exploit opportunities, addressing weaknesses to capitalize on opportunities, utilizing strengths to mitigate threats, and minimizing weaknesses to avoid threats. Ultimately, the research advocates for a revision of customs and tax regulations to support the growth of MSMEs in Batam and ensure they benefit from the FTZ status.
