Abstract:
Abstract As a prelude to the reports of our research results, this chapter introduces our main theme. The first section explains why we focus on cross-border outsourcingCross-border outsourcing foreign outsourcing, offshore outsourcing among various modes of globalization. We also refer to the reasons for the emergence of cross-border outsourcingCross-border outsourcing , and how critical it is for our economies. To facilitate readers’ understanding, the second section explains the definitions of our keywords, such as outsourcingOutsourcing and offshoringOffshore sourcing/offshoring . This explicit clarification is important because these words are often used with varying meanings. The final section explains how this book is structured by briefly introducing the main content of each chapter.
