Chapter Chapter 4 in Mechanisms for Long-Term Innovation, 2022, pp 55-66 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In this chapter, we describe the history of RO membrane development by academic and public institutions in the United States. We first clarify that development was launched at UCLA and other US universities, and then focus on the US government's massive policy support that played a critical role in the early history. We also point out that research and development at North Star Research Institute had a particular contribution to the advancement of the RO membrane method.
