Abstract: Abstract Chapter 7 explores the prospects for further developments in the smart grid, including megawatt trading, aggregator businesses that bundle demand, the evolution from manual to automated demand response, and demand-side ancillary services. Finally, we outline a path to evidence-based policymaking.
