Chapter Chapter 22 in Off-Campus Study, Study Abroad, and Study Away in Economics, 2021, pp 273-285 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract I describe two related courses, The Cuban Economy and The Post-Socialist Economies of Europe. Though both courses are ostensibly about socialist or post-socialist economies, my motivation is for a better understanding of the miracle of the Invisible Hand of the capitalist economic system. I also discuss the advantages of embedding study abroad in a regular semester course.
