Abstract:
Abstract This paper offers a guide to developing and executing a short-term, faculty-led study abroad program, focusing on the economics of institutional change. While I will primarily discuss my experience with programs in the Transitional Economies—e.g., Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary. I have used the same basic format to organize programs in other parts of the world—e.g., Cuba, Chile, and Peru. I will highlight course objectives, provide a course outline with reading list, and discuss both academic and non-academic benefits of carrying out instruction beyond the classroom.
