Chapter Chapter 10 in Economic Development and the Environmental Ecosystem, 2023, pp 115-125 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The manual describes the scope of application to which it applies, identifies stakeholders and organizational structure elements that limit the scope of operation. Among other things, the document reflects the role of senior management in developing and further promoting the principles of energy policy, with the function of informing employees about the importance and significance of energy conservation for the sustainable development of the enterprise. The company’s energy policy was determined by the company’s top management and contains commitments in the field of energy conservation and efficiency improvement, forms goals and indicators necessary for developing a program to reduce production costs through savings. The company’s goals are to increase energy efficiency and reduce the energy intensity of technological processes related to the production of steel, cast billets and pipe products, and to achieve the best industry and global indicators of energy consumption per unit of production. The main corporate value is considered to be rational and economical use of fuel and energy resources. The analysis of the company’s goals revealed the dependence of the fulfillment of one goal on another. Thus, in order to achieve the best global performance in the field of energy efficiency, it is necessary to reduce the cost and energy intensity of production, which indicates that the strategic goal of the highest level is subordinated to local goals. Familiarization with the energy policy is carried out by means of highlighting its main provisions. The policy is drawn up in the form of a document approved by the managing Director and posted on the official and in-house websites of the company, as well as on shop information stands.
