Chapter Chapter 4 in Long-run Convergence in Greenhouse Gases, Reactive Compounds, Aerosol Precursors and Aerosols, 2025, pp 53-71 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter presents the literature review of the studies analyzing emissions convergence dynamics among industrialized countries, emerging economies, and developing countries, both separately and/or together via wide global samples. Most of the existing studies focus on CO2, as compared to our wider analysis of ten compounds. Notwithstanding, we review studies focusing on CO2 emissions as well as other compounds. In addition, studies dealing with aggregate and disaggregate (i.e., regional, sectoral) perspectives are both reviewed. We provide the main findings on the analyses of stochastic convergence using univariate or panel unit root and stationarity statistics, club-convergence clustering, distribution dynamics, and β-convergence.
