Chapter Chapter 5 in The Apprentice Movement in the Federal Republic of Germany, 2025, pp 67-77 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter explores the willingness of apprentices to join collective action in pursuit of training-related demands. The objective is to understand the presence of both widespread discontent and low participation. The discussion draws on the economics of collective action and on the literature on social movements. Evidence is taken primarily from the remarks made by manual male apprentices in group discussions at a Munich vocational school.
