Abstract: Abstract This paper examines the impact of the EU’s energy and climate policy on the development of Poland’s regions. The author aims to show that renewable energy sources available in various regions in Poland, combined with the availability of innovative ‘green’ technologies and an investor-friendly regulatory environment, are likely to make Poland’s regions more attractive to investors and encourage the development of business enterprises in these regions. The paper looks at Poland’s climate policy and energy projects in the context of EU regulations, followed by an analysis of the size and structure of renewable energy sources and their regional distribution. The author examines the possibilities for using renewables and outlines the conditions determining the inflow of investment and further socioeconomic development of the analysed regions.
