Abstract:
Abstract The purpose of the article is to study the process of development of regional economy of Russia and Europe from the position of import substitution. The authors use the method of comparative analysis, horizontal economic analysis, and regression and correlation analysis. The authors analyze the level and dynamics of development of regional economy of Russia and Europe, study dependence on import, determine its influence on indicators of development of regional economy of Russia and Europe, and prepare import substituting approach to development of regional economy of Russia and Europe. The main conclusion is that regional economy of Russia and Europe is insufficiently developed, the reason of this being its high dependence on import, which predetermines the necessity for activation of the process of import substitution.
