Abstract:
Abstract In this chapter, the synthesis of the comparison of the key findings in the four Balkan countries will be presented. It starts by exploring the extent to which there was a linkage between university and the outside world about the role of education in development and in the pursuit of EU 2020 strategy (Variable A). Then, it continues by considering the nature and strength of the University internal capability of the four selected countries in the sample in pursuing the EU 2020 strategy; finally, it concludes by discussing the findings on the extent to which there is a coordination at the national level with regard to University’s role in pursuing sustainable development and whether the development activities of the universities serve to strengthen the process pursuant the EU 2020 strategy.
