A chapter in Innovation in the High-Tech Economy, 2013, pp 23-34 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The purpose of this paper is to analyze the impact of Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) from the examples of trade between China, Japan, Korea and US in the manufacturing industry. The gravity model is used to determine the effect of the TBT on trade values. The results indicate that the Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) do have negative effects on trade in the long term, and the governments and economies should actually reduce the amount of this non-tariff barrier.
