Abstract: Abstract Among the attempts to assess and classify regions from the point of view of socio-economic coherence, a varied spectrum of criteria and variables is used. In the analysis carried out for the purposes of this dissertation an attempt has been made to classify and analyse the EU regions (NUTS 2) in two fundamental stages.
