Abstract:
Abstract We introduce US competition analysis. Although the EPA conducts substantial economic competition analysis, government departments focus on reducing the impact on competition through appropriate regulatory design at the earlier regulation-making stage because the impact of various regulations on the competitive landscape varies greatly depending on institutional design. We show the importance of this using several examples of competition analysis.
