A chapter in Economic Dependence of Mongolia on Minerals, 2022, pp 13-51 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In many regions, foreign direct investment (FDI) plays a crucial role in the economic growth of resource-rich, developing host countries, providing necessary financing, know-how and technology to develop mining resources. In Mongolia’s case, most inflows of FDI are directed into the mining sector, as investors find natural resources an attractive investment due to geographical proximity to major East Asian markets.
