Abstract: Abstract Buddhist and western economic paradigms are not necessarily conflicting. They propose different measures and paths to help humanity be happier. Buddhists encourage minimising self-centred needs as the origin of economic relationships, but instead, opening up one’s heart to the needs and conditions of others.
