Abstract: Abstract This contribution considers the experience of creating and operating sovereign wealth funds in Russia, analyses the basic principles of the functioning of funds, the sources of their formation, as well as the processes of managing funds. The experience of reforming the Stabilization Fund in Russia and its transformation into the Reserve Fund and the National Welfare Fund (NWF) is considered. Finally, the contribution explores the problems of increasing the significance and effectiveness of involving the resources of sovereign wealth funds in solving the most significant issues of the structural development of the national economy of Russia.
