Furthermore, the chapter uncovers the specific obstacles faced by SMEs in their journey towards sustainable governance. Addressing the highly discussed challenges of Industry 4.0 and digital transformation, the chapter highlights their influence on sustainable corporate governance, underscoring its dynamic nature. In conclusion, it calls for further conceptual development in sustainable governance to meet the evolving demands of the future.
