A chapter in Global Perspectives on Climate Change, Inequality, and Multinational Corporations, 2025, pp 209-226 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter explores the issue of statelessness through the lens of Hannah Arendt’s political theories, mainly focusing on her concept of the “right to have rights”. By linking Arendt’s critique to the CSR practices of MNEs, the chapter highlights the potential of these entities to mitigate some of the adverse effects of statelessness. Through a critical analysis of Arendt’s work and its relevance to today’s globalised world, the chapter advocates for rethinking human rights frameworks and the role of corporate entities in promoting social justice and equity.
