Abstract: Abstract Recently, there has been an increase in the debate about diversity management and inclusiveness in the workplace around the world, including in Muslim majority countries. In those countries, the values and wisdom of the Islamic religion shape business practices in a variety of ways, while at the same time clashing with the dominant western business practices in areas like diversity management practices such as equity and equal opportunities in the workplace. Therefore, the application of the Islamic values provides businesses with a variety of challenges as today’s business context is driven by a capitalistic orientation that seeks wealth accumulation and profit maximization. This article is about those challenges and in how far the Islamic perspective offers a more humanistic approach to diversity management practices.
