Abstract:
Abstract Thanks to their role as loan providers and savings managers, banks are in a position to contribute towards a sustainable and viable development. The independent Raiffeisen banks and their offices throughout Austria still adhere to the values and principles of their founding father Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen. Without the consistent application of ethical values in their day-to-day business, the development of the Raiffeisen organisations would not have taken the form it did.
