Chapter Chapter 5 in Corporate Digital Responsibility, 2025, pp 207-237 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The chapter “Mind the Gap! Mastering Challenges in Practice” starts with a discussion of the difficulties of implementing CDR in a corporate context, including corporate barriers to good CDR practices and internal barriers to implementation. Practical tips for breaking new ground in digital responsibility round off this section. The second part presents inspiring case studies from pioneering companies such as Microsoft, Deutsche Telekom, Deutsche Bahn, Testbirds, nebenan.de, Avocadostore, and Konica Minolta. These examples illustrate how companies are promoting digital diversity, using AI ethically, driving digital sustainability, transforming workplaces, generating social impact, practicing ethical marketing, reducing environmental footprint, minimizing waste through better data, and strengthening data privacy. These case studies serve as evidence of the feasibility and benefits of CDR initiatives in various business sectors and provide valuable insights for companies looking to integrate digital responsibility into their business practices.
