Chapter Chapter 3 in Waste Management for Global Sustainability, 2025, pp 53-71 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Research by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) shows that, under the baseline scenario, current population growth trends and higher incomes will lead to a 70% increase in annual plastic use and waste generation in 2040 compared to 2020. Efforts have been made in both the United States and China to limit the increase in plastic use.
