Chapter Chapter 5 in Corporate Collapse and Corporate Governance, 2025, pp 109-121 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter recounts the rise and collapse of Carillion Plc, the UK’s second-largest construction firm and a major public sector service provider, which entered liquidation in early 2018. Its failure—marked by massive job losses, pension deficits, and creditor liabilities—prompted parliamentary inquiries and governance reviews.
