Chapter Chapter 5 in Medical Tourism in Germany, 2018, pp 173-191 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Chapter 5 employs a gravity specification at the hospital level and extends the analysis of the previous chapter and supports its results. The author makes use of a large panel data set that is augmented by multiple controls at various levels of spatial and organizational aggregation. The focus of this investigation lies on networks and on exogenous quality measures that capture and signal treatment quality.
