Scalar Non-Linear ODE: The Regular Case
Paulo Brito
Chapter Chapter 3 in Economic Dynamics and Distributions, 2026, pp 57-83 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Non-linear regular ordinary differential equations are the main subjects of the qualitative theory of ordinary differential equations. This chapter introduces this theory by dealing with scalar equations. It presents the most important normal forms and an introduction to bifurcation theory. It also includes some benchmark examples from economics, in particular related to economic growth and macroeconomic theories.
