A chapter in Schumpeterian Legacy in Modern Times, 2026, pp 211-236 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This book chapter addresses Maureen McKelvey’s research agenda, in relation to a Schumpeterian perspective. Her research analyzing innovation and entrepreneurship, and especially as interlinked with science and technology. Professor McKelvey is particularly interested in analyzing which agents of change are involved, as well as how, where, and why processes for the development and use of new ideas occur to impact society and the economy, through innovation and entrepreneurship. Much of her research has studied empirical areas dependent upon advances in science and technology—and more recently, also in related types of knowledge advances in medicine, healthcare, and sports. Her research agenda thus takes a Schumpeterian theoretical perspective as an inspiring starting point, to understand economic and business creative destruction caused by innovation and entrepreneurship related to science and technology.
