A chapter in Schumpeterian Legacy in Modern Times, 2026, pp 509-524 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract I like to imagine I had met Schumpeter. We would talk about horses, perhaps, or early twentieth century banking. I would tell him about venture capital, and how cool entrepreneurship has become. I would quote to him Tyler Cowen’s chapter considering him for GOAT. It would be fun. He is easily one of my top historical dinner-party guests. Yet until time travel exists, the next best thing was to join the International Joseph A. Schumpeter Society, and I have been part of this wonderful community now for over 25 years. It’s my main intellectual home and I’m delighted to contribute a chapter here celebrating and reflecting on its 40th year.
