Chapter Chapter 10 in Economy and Disability, 2019, pp 107-121 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The present chapter and the next analyze the interaction of conventions, or different behavior patterns. Chapter 10 presents a general framework to analyze the interaction, while Chap. 11 focuses more on minority-majority issues in an economic arena. Chapter 10 develops a two-society model to analyze the interaction of societies with different conventions. The two societies may be interpreted as two groups within a single society such as persons with and without disability. Different groups have different traits/preferences so that optimal actions and desirable social outcomes may be different from each other.
